How to Register a New Universe Thermostat

The Universe Thermostat can be connected to Wi-Fi, allowing you to control comfort settings from anywhere, at any time. Our app is available for Apple and Android mobile devices.
In this section, we will show you how to register your new Universe Thermostat.
On your mobile device, search for Universe Thermostat on the App Store or Play Store or scan the QR Codes here:
After downloading the app, follow these steps to register your account and connect your thermostat:
- Check that your HVAC system is on with power to both the unit and Universe thermostat.
a) Lift up the front access panel
b) Make sure the main power switch is in the Up and/or On position - Ensure your wireless router is on and is connected to the internet.
Find and record your thermostat device ID
Click on the gear icon to go to the setting page.
Select “System Reset”.
Select “Wi-Fi Reset”.
Confirm the selection by pressing “Wi-Fi Reset Now”.
Record the SSID and password that appears on the screen and press “Save”.
Connect your thermostat to your Wi-Fi
On your mobile device or computer, open your Wi-Fi network settings to view available network connections.
Locate and select your thermostat device ID from this list. *NOTE: You may need to disable any firewall settings that may prevent your device from being listed.

c. A configurations page will pop-up with your thermostat Device ID listed in the top address bar. Enter the following information in the respective type fields: SSID: this is the name of your Wi-Fi network from your router d. Press “Try to Register”. e. After successful registration, you will see a pop-up stating “Device R egistered” and an email confirmation from “Universe Thermostat”. *NOTE: this email may be sent to your junk folder. A new email can be requested by opening the Universe app and pressing “forgot password” on the home page.
| c. A network configurations page will popup on the screen. Type “uniluxvfc.com” in the address bar to continue. d. The following fields will appear for you to fill out: SSID: this is the name of your Wi-Fi network from your router e. Press “Try to Register”. f. After successful registration, you will see a pop-up stating “Device Registered” and an email confirmation from “Universe Thermostat”. *NOTE: this email may be sent to your junk folder. A new email can be requested by opening the Universe app and pressing “forgot password” on the home page. |
5. Open the link in your confirmation email to set your password and finish registration.

You can now login to your Universe account and remotely control your thermostat from your mobile device! Visit “How to use the Universe App” for helpful tips on using the Universe app.
*Note: If you are registering multiple thermostats in the same suite, please use the same wireless router and email to ensure they are associated with the same Universe account.
Log out & Disconnect
To logout in the web and mobile app, simply select logout from the menu bar (web app) or on the settings page (mobile app).
If you are moving, please disconnect your thermostat from your Universe account. You can find the disconnect option in the settings menu on the Universe website, or in the mobile app by pressing the gear icon to enter: Settings >General Settings>De-register device.
* NOTE: If you have multiple thermostats in your home, you will need to manually de-register each device as shown in the above images.

Log out and de-register
To log out in the web or mobile app, select logout from the menu (web) or from Settings (mobile).
If you are moving, disconnect your thermostat from your Universe account. The disconnect option is in Settings > General Settings > De-register device.

How to Create a New Account for an Existing Thermostat
Connecting Multiple Thermostats to One Account
We recommend naming each thermostat in your mobile app after registration, so they do not become confused. You can name your thermostat by:
a. Click the gear icon in the top right of the app to enter the Settings menu
b. Press “General Settings”
c. Press the entry field to the right of “Device Name” to type a new name.
d. Press “Back” to return to the settings page. You should see your new thermostat name appear over your list of options.

After registering all thermostats, you will be able to view all devices at a glance from the app home screen or select a thermostat to individually control.
