Understanding Error Codes

Your Unilux HVAC fan coil uses several sensors to ensure the unit is operating as intended. Should unusual operation occur, you may see one of several symbols on your thermostat. Please refer to this chart to diagnose your fan coil and proceed with next steps.

E1 Error Code

Appears on thermostat display if your fan coil’s water temperature sensor is not detected or if your thermostat is configured as a 2-pipe fan coil when connected to a 4-pipe system.

Please contact your HVAC service provider.

Defrost Indicator (Anti-Freeze Mode)

Appears on thermostat display when either of the following occurs:

  • room temperature is below 41°F / 5°

  • remote water temperature sensor reads below 34°F / 1°C

  • 24VAC trigger signal is ON at FZ terminal

All of these events indicate your fan coil has sensed low temperatures and is automatically working to conserve operational temperatures.

Please contact your HVAC service provider to assess potential damage to your unit.

Drain Pan Indicator

Appears on thermostat display when your fan coil’s drain pan is close to overflowing (24VAC signal is triggered at DP terminal).

Your fan coil will stop operating until serviced to prevent flooding (fan will be forced OFF and all water valves closed).

Please contact your HVAC service provider.
