Using the Universe Mobile App

The Universe Thermostat app is available on Android and iOS. To download the app and register your account, please visit Registering Your Universe Thermostat Account.

Navigating the App

After opening the app, you will be presented with a list of thermostats registered to your account, as well as the current temperature, set temperature, and operating settings for each thermostat.

From here, you can select your desired thermostat to enter its dashboard for more details or select the gear icon in the top right to enter the settings menu.

Your thermostat dashboard provides an overview of your HVAC unit and suite’s current status, including indoor air temperature, thermostat set temperature, operation mode, fan mode, and schedule settings.

Any emergency alerts regarding your HVAC system will also appear here.

The bottom menu allows you to quickly enter the settings page for the following, from left to right:

Temperature (default dashboard page): Use the up and down arrows to quickly change your set temperature.

Operating Mode: Switch between heating, cooling, and automatic (if using a 4-pipe fan coil or heat pump).

Fan Speed: Manually select low, medium, high, or automatic fan speed. We recommend keeping your thermostat set to automatic to optimize the efficiency of your HVAC system.

Schedule: Quickly pause or resume a programed schedule.

Settings Menu
After opening the settings menu, you will see three categories underneath each registered thermostat: General Settings, Usage Stats, and Schedule Setup.

The General Settings tab is where you can configure your thermostat with the following options:

Device Name: If you did not name your thermostat during the initial pairing process, you can select the type field to enter a new device name.

Temp Units: Switch between using Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Time Format: Choose between using a 12-hour or 24-hour clock.

Time Zone: You must select your time zone to accurately run a programed schedule with your thermostat.

Country and City: Optional settings but are required if you want your thermostat dashboard to display the outdoor temperature.

De-Register Device: If you are moving, you can remove any thermostat from your account by selecting this option. Follow the on-screen steps to de-register.

Factory Reset: Fully overrides your thermostat settings.

To set a schedule, start by selecting the day of the week you would like to program at the top of the screen (Sunday-Saturday).

Each day consists of 4 unique set points for you to program your desired temperature in both cooling and heating mode.

To edit a set point, select the desired option and follow the on-screen instructions to choose a new time to start the program and your desired temperature.

Repeat this process for all days of the week.

To activate your schedule, return to your thermostat dashboard and select “Schedule” from the bottom menu.

On the “Schedule Modes” screen, select “Schedule” as indicated by the calendar icon.

To pause a schedule, you can select either a Permanent Hold (indicated by the lock icon) or a Timed Hold (indicated by the lock/clock icon). A permanent hold will indefinitely pause your schedule until you reactivate it, while a timed hold will only pause your schedule until the next programmed set point starts.

Vacation Mode: If leaving your home for an extended period of time, you can set your thermostat to Vacation Mode from the “Schedule Modes” screen. This allows you to set a consistently held temperature for your HVAC unit to run during the designated time frame. Follow the on-screen instructions to schedule the dates you will be away and your desired operation settings.

The settings page also allows you to rename your device, choose between a 12 and 24-hour clock format, and set your time zone. Note that while your city is an optional setting, your time zone must be set to accurately program a schedule for your thermostat.

Setting a Schedule

To set a schedule, click the “My Schedule” button in the top menu. You will then be directed to a table showing four programs (setpoints) for each day of the week. Temperatures in red represent desired temperature when in heating mode, and temperatures in blue represent cooling.
